Types and applications of non-woven fabrics(3)

The above are the main technical routes for non-woven fabric production, each with its unique processing and product characteristics to meet the performance requirements of non-woven fabrics in different application fields. The applicable products for each production technology can be roughly summarized as follows:

-Dry production technology: usually suitable for producing non-woven products with high strength and good wear resistance, such as filter materials, geotextiles, etc.

-Wet production technology: suitable for producing soft and absorbent non-woven fabrics, such as hygiene products, medical dressings, etc.

-Melt blowing production technology: It can produce non-woven fabrics with high fiber fineness and good filtration performance, suitable for medical, filtration, clothing and home products fields.

-Combination production technology: Combining the advantages of multiple technologies, composite non-woven fabrics with specific properties can be produced, with a wide range of applications.

The raw materials suitable for non-woven fabric production process mainly include:

1. Polypropylene (PP): It has the characteristics of lightweight, chemical resistance, heat resistance, etc., and is widely used in spunbond nonwoven fabrics, meltblown nonwoven fabrics, etc.

2. Polyester (PET): It has excellent mechanical properties and durability, and is suitable for spunbond nonwoven fabrics, spunlace nonwoven fabrics, needpunch nonwoven fabrics, etc.

3. Viscose fiber: has good moisture absorption and flexibility, suitable for spunlace non-woven fabrics, sanitary products, etc.

4. Nylon (PA): It has good strength, wear resistance, and resilience, and is suitable for needle punched non-woven fabrics, sewn non-woven fabrics, etc.

5. Acrylic (AC): It has good insulation and softness, suitable for wet non-woven fabrics, sanitary products, etc.

6. Polyethylene (PE): It is lightweight, flexible, and resistant to chemicals, suitable for wet non-woven fabrics, sanitary products, etc.

7. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): It has good flame retardancy and waterproofness, and is suitable for wet non-woven fabrics, dust-proof fabrics, etc.

8. Cellulose: It has good moisture absorption and environmental friendliness, and is suitable for wet non-woven fabrics, dust-free paper, etc.

9. Natural fibers (such as cotton, hemp, etc.): have good moisture absorption and softness, suitable for needle punched, spunlace non-woven fabrics, sanitary products, etc.

10. Recycled fibers (such as recycled polyester, recycled adhesive, etc.): environmentally friendly and suitable for various non-woven fabric production processes.

The selection of these materials depends on the final application field and performance requirements of the non-woven fabric.
